A Taxing Problem

It has been revealed, again, that Donald Trump pays little to no federal income tax. He refuses to share his tax returns with the public, even though every presidential candidate for the past 50 years has done so. One can only surmise that he is hiding something….something so awful it would ruin his candidacy. Reports from his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, suggest he is hiding fraudulent activity and doesn’t want people to know about his business dealings, which have often been corrupt or dishonest.

But in a previous discussion he has admitted that he pays little to no income tax. “The only years that anybody’s ever seen were a couple of years when he had to turn them over to state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license, and they showed he didn’t pay any federal income tax,” Clinton said. Trump responded: “That makes me smart.”

Later, when Clinton told Trump that “maybe … you haven’t paid any federal income tax for a lot of years,” he said that he was a better steward for his money than the government. And, it would be squandered.
Trump’s finances should be a real concern to voters. As indicated this week, there could be national security concerns if he owes large sums of money to foreign countries, especially ones that are adversaries to the US. This puts him in a very precarious situation. He may have to address his personal interests over those of the United States. That could lead to treason.
And he says nothing about the huge sums of money he is directing to his personal interests. He played golf more than 250 times at a cost of more than $138 million dollars. And he only plays at courses he owns. So, he is funneling money to his own businesses…the public is paying for his recreation.

He criticizes Joe Biden for his son’s involvement in dealings with other countries that he claims are improper and/or illegal, yet says nothing about the business activities of his son-in-law Jared and son Eric, who are doing business with countries around the world. Or that his daughter Ivanka has obtained more than 30 patents in China, to be used for goods and products after he leaves office.

Simply put, Trump and his family are scam artists. Hopefully voters will fulfill his final Apprentice wish: “you’re fired.”
